Arrest Warrant Obtained for Suspect who Set Woman on Fire, Then Fled
Lewis Edward Reeder
Mount Vernon Police District – Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a man wanted for allegedly setting a woman on fire in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County this morning. At about 1:40 am, police and fire units responded to a home in the 4900 block of Keeler Court for the report of a house fire and a disorderly man. Firefighters put out the fire and discovered a 64-year-old woman who had been badly burned. It appears the couple got into an argument and the suspect, Lewis Edward Reeder, of the same address, set the victim on fire. Fire investigators, working alongside our detectives, are working to determine exactly how the suspect did that. The victim was taken to a hospital and her injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in finding Reeder. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Needels at 571-221-8131.
