Three Pedestrians Injured in Herndon-Area Crash

Officers responded for a report of an accident with injury today around 3:22 p.m. An investigation determined a 20-year-old woman was driving a 2008 Toyota Highlander westbound on McNair Farms Drive. She approached the intersection at Centreville Road, stopped at a red light and prepared to turn right onto northbound Centreville Road.

A 52-year-old woman was with her two children, an 11-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy, crossing McNair Farms Drive. As they were crossing, the driver proceeded to turn and struck them. The boy and girl were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was initially taken to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries, but her injuries were later determined to be non-life-threatening.

The driver remained at the scene. Crash Reconstruction detectives responded to investigate. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors to the crash. The investigation continues; no charges have been placed at this time.
