MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

TRESPASSING/MALICIOUS WOUNDING/ARREST: Janna Lee Avenue/Audubon Avenue, 3/21/17, around 6:20 p.m. A patrol supervisor was driving in the area of Janna Lee when he recognized a suspect from an incident that occurred on 3/12/17 (see below). The man tried to flee, but was quickly apprehended. Rayquan Jackson, 18, of Alexandria, was positively identified as the suspect who shot at a Wal-Mart employee on 3/12/17. He was arrested, taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with attempted malicious wounding and trespassing. (Previous Release/ ASSAULT: 7900 block of Richmond Highway, 3/12/17 around 3:30 p.m. Two men were inside a WalMart store acting suspiciously. A Loss Prevention employee, a 23-year-old man, believed one suspect had concealed merchandise. As they exited the store, the employee followed them and the two suspects took off running. The victim attempted to notify the neighboring business about the incident when he saw one suspect run past then turn toward him. The victim heard what sounded like a gunshot but did not see a weapon. The suspect was described as black, in his 20s, about 6 feet 1-inch-tall and 200 pounds, wearing a black jacket with white stripes and blue pants. The other suspect was described as black, in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds. No one was injured.)

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 6800 block of Kincaid Avenue, 3/21/17, between 7 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. A homeowner reported that while he was at work, someone entered his home and took property. No suspect information.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

STRONG ARM ROBBERY: Glenmore Drive/Vista Drive, 3/21/17, around 9 a.m. A 16-year-old boy was walking to school when three men approached him and demanded money. He didn’t have any, but the suspects took his backpack with a laptop inside and ran off on foot. They were described as black and between 25 and 30 years old.
