To celebrate 275 years of history, events have been planned at the Historic Fairfax Courthouse throughout the year. A lecture series, themed “Fairfax County: Yesterday and Today,” is free and open to the public, but registration is required ahead of time. We invite you to join us on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m., to learn about the history of your police department and sheriff’s office, and the court system. For registration and information on this and other upcoming lectures, visit: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/fairfax-countys-275th-commemorative-committee-12808039042.
A signature celebration is set for Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Historic Fairfax Courthouse. This free event will include historically-themed family-friendly activities, live musical performances, dozens of showcases, and more. Antique vehicles from the police and fire departments will also be on display. There will be parking and restroom facilities on site, and food will be available for purchase from food trucks.
