SULLY DISTRICT STATION

RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: 4400 block of Chantilly Shopping Center, 5/30/17 around 3:53 p.m. Officers responded for a report of a woman who had been grazed by a bullet. An investigation determined she was walking through a parking lot when the bullet grazed her hand. The victim had a minor injury; she was treated at the hospital. The police helicopter and several officers responded and checked the area extensively, but were unable to determine from where the shot originated. It does not appear anyone or anything was targeted.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 5/30/17 around 8:34 a.m. A 26-year-old woman was walking when a man approached from behind, pushed her and tried to take her purse. The victim and suspect struggled briefly as she shouted for help and refused to let go of her purse. The suspect took off; officers extensively checked the area, but did not locate him. He was described as black, between 25 and 30 years old, about 6 feet tall and wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes. He was carrying a green back pack. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

SKIMMING DEVICE: 8000 block of Leesburg Pike (Exxon), 5/30/17 around 11:52 a.m. A credit card company notified the business on May 26 about possible fraud occurring. Employees found a financial skimming device inside a gas pump. Financial Crimes detectives are investigating.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: 8100 block of Bluebonnet Drive, 5/30/17 around 5:49 p.m. A 19-year-old man was shot in the lower body near a trail in the area. He was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives attempted to investigate, but the victim declined to prosecute. Detectives attempted to continue their investigation, but were unable to obtain sufficient information to determine what took place and closed the investigation.
