Motorcyclist Dies after Crash

Franconia Police District – Around 7:50 p.m. yesterday, June 1, officers responded for a report of a motorcycle that struck a wall in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. An investigation determined the driver was traveling southbound on Telegraph Road near Beulah Street when his motorcycle left the roadway, went over a curb and crashed into a retaining wall. The driver, Thomas Jefferson Duty IV, 45, of Alexandria, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crash Reconstruction detectives are investigating to determine what led to the crash and whether speed or alcohol were factors.
