MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

COMMERCIAL ARMED ROBBERY: 8000 block of Tysons Corner Center.6/23/17, 8:17 p.m. A lookout was given to officers with the Tysons Urban Team (TUT), regarding two suspicious men who had just walked through the Sunglass Hut. As officers were looking for them, a robbery was dispatched at the Lens Crafters. Two men, matching the earlier lookout, entered the store, displayed a knife and took dozens of pairs of eyeglasses. Nobody was injured and the suspects ran away. They were both described as black, in their mid-to-late teens. Both were 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall and between 150 and 180 pounds. Both suspects were wearing dark clothing.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

IMPERSONATING A POLICE OFFICER/ASSAULT: Braddock Rd/Ox Rd. 6/25/17, 12:35 p.m. A 38-year-old man was driving down the road and saw a bicyclist riding in the middle of the road. He honked his horn for the bicyclist to move over and then passed. Another motorist, a 56-year-old man, saw this and stopped, held up a badge and asked the bicyclist if she needed help; she said yes. The older man then sped up to the 38-year-old motorist and pulled in front of him to stop him. The older man then got out of his car, showed the badge again and told the motorist to leave the bicyclist alone. He then said he was a police officer. The 38-year-old motorist then drove away. The older man allegedly followed him and ran his car into the younger man’s car. Officers arrived, conducted their investigation and then arrested the older man. He was identified as Eric Malguy of Steven Lee Court in Fairfax. Malguy was charged with impersonating a police officer and simple assault. No arrest photograph is available.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

The Traffic Division conducted a DWI checkpoint on Burke Lake Road, in front of Lake Braddock High School. 737 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. There were no arrests for DWI. Three traffic summonses were issued and one criminal arrest was made for false information and forgery.
