BURGLARY/LARCENY FROM VEHICLE: 14500 block of Oakmere Drive, between 8/19 and 8/26/17. A residential garage was entered and items were reported missing from vehicles.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 6300 block of South Kings Highway. 8/25/17 around 11 p.m. A man entered the business and began to steal merchandise. When confronted by an employee, the suspect assaulted him and continued to take items. The suspect was described as black, about 6 feet tall, and in his 30s. The victim did not require medical attention.
ROBBERY/ARREST: 7500 block of Richmond Highway (Forest Laundromat). 8/26/17 around 3:50 a.m. A 68-year-old woman was leaving the business when a man attempted to rob her of her laundry bag. The bag ripped and the suspect walked away without taking any items. Officers located him nearby. 61-year-old George Redmond was arrested and charged with attempted robbery.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: 7900 block of Penn Place. Between 11:30 p.m. on 8/26 and 9:30 a.m. on 8/27/17. The outside of a home was tampered with as if someone attempted to gain entry. They did not get inside and nothing was taken or damaged.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 7700 block of Richmond Highway (AT&T), 8/27/17 around 2:40 a.m. A business was broken into and merchandise was taken.

PURSUIT/MALICIOUS WOUNDING OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/ARREST: 1700 block of Great Falls Street. 8/27/17 around 9:15 p.m. A man attempting to elude officers sideswiped a police car and then drove without headlights before striking another police car and an occupied home. No one inside the home was injured, but one officer was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Tyler Johnson, a 23-year-old Fairfax resident, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer, disregarding a police signal to stop, and several drug-related offenses.

ROBBERY: 7300 block of Arlington Boulevard, 8/27/17 between 6 and 6:30 p.m. An 80-year-old woman was robbed while walking on the service road. The suspect is described as a white woman, between 38 and 45 years old, and approximately 5’4”. The suspect was accompanied by a man in his 50s with black hair and weighing between 200 and 250 pounds. They left the area in a white SUV. The victim did not require medical attention. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 11600 block of Vantage Hill Road. 8/26/17, around 6:20 a.m. Residents reported hearing gun shots in the area. At least one vehicle was also broken into. Evidence was recovered at the scene. No injuries were reported.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/ARREST: 7800 block of Rectory Lane. 8/25/17 around 1:30 p.m. A man broke into a home and was found inside by responding officers. Daniel Nunez Mendoza, a 19-year-old from Annandale, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry and destruction of property.
