MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 7900 block of Falstaff Road, 9/8/17 around 3:30 p.m. The homeowner discovered items in several rooms of their home on the floor and some property taken. Officers obtained video surveillance footage of the burglary and the suspects. Four suspects, three males and one female, were seen entering the victim’s house. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY: 7500 block of Royal Oak Drive, 9/8/17 around 4:20 p.m. The homeowner came home around 3:50 p.m. through the garage when they saw broken glass on the floor and heard noises from inside the house. The victims ran to a neighbor’s house to call police. Several items were taken from the home. The investigation is ongoing.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

WEAPON VIOLATION/POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES/ARREST: 6200 block of Little River Turnpike, 9/9/17 around 1:15 a.m. Officers made a traffic stop on a white Ford Focus driving without license plates. The driver provided a fake driver’s license to the officer. The vehicle was searched and ammunition was found inside. A passenger of the vehicle was a convicted felon. A search of the driver and passengers nearby hotel room revealed a handgun and controlled substances in the room. Ryan Morgan, 27 years old, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of firearms while in possession of certain controlled substances and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Sydimon Holloway, 18 years old, of Augusta, Georgia was charged with identity theft and driving without a license.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION 

BURGLARY/ARREST: 1500 block of Northgate Square, 9/8/17 around 1:20 a.m. A resident was in his bedroom when he heard noises coming from his kitchen. When the victim looked to see what the noises were, he saw the refrigerator door open and a box of pizza on the table. He then saw a woman sitting on his counter next to the kitchen. The woman left after the victim told her he was calling the police. Police in the area were able to apprehend the suspect. Blanchee Smith, 45 years old, of no fixed address, was charged with burglary at night to commit felony.

RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: 2200 block of Stone Wheel Drive, 9/9/17 around 5:45 p.m. Officers responded to the area for sounds of gun fire. Two groups of people were seen in a parking lot near the South Gate Community Center in an argument. A person in each group pulled out a gun and exchanged gun fire. No injuries were reported. Several vehicles were damaged by bullets. Evidence was collected. The investigation is ongoing.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

The Traffic Division conducted a DWI checkpoint on Wakefield Chapel Road and Bromley Court. 181 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. There were 6 arrests for DWI.
