Animal Protection Police Ask for Information on Dog Found Near Death

It’s been just over a month since we found this dog, now named “Max”, near 13000 Wakley Court in Centreville. At the time, he was emaciated, lethargic, unable to stand alone or hold up his head, extremely dehydrated, barely alive, and with urine scalding all over his body. He had no collar or microchip. The 1-year-old black retriever weighed just 23 pounds and was not expected to survive. Max now weighs over 45 pounds and is a happy, playful, and friendly dog. He is in medical foster care and not available for adoption.

Our Animal Protection Police are now asking for your help. Do you recognize Max? We are trying to locate the owner. If you have any information, please contact Animal Protection Police Officer Enna Lugo at Enna.Lugo@fairfaxcounty.gov or 571-641-7434.
