Mount Vernon Police District – Detectives are releasing a composite sketch of a man they believed was involved in the possible attempted abduction of a child. The preliminary investigation shows that an 8-year-old girl got off her school bus last Wednesday near the intersection of Frye Road and Madge Lane in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County around 5:15 p.m. While walking home, she was approached by an unknown man. The man tried to talk with the girl but she refused. The man then grabbed the girl’s arm, at which point she was able to break free and run away.
