Detectives Investigating after Stabbing and Shooting Incident

Mount Vernon District – Detectives are investigating after a stabbing and shooting in the 3500 block of Buckman Road in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. Officers responded just before 10 last night for a report of a stabbing. When the officers arrived, they were directed to an apartment where another man was shot. Officers administered first aid until rescue arrived. The man was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The stabbing victim refused care at the scene and then later asked to be taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released for a cut to the upper body.

Detectives are in the early stages of the investigation and have spoken to several people at the scene, who are not fully cooperating. They are still working to identify others that may have more information.
