Detectives Seeking Public’s Help in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect

Mount Vernon District Station – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are investigating a commercial armed robbery at M & T Bank, located at 7485 Mount Vernon Square Center. Around 12:35 this afternoon, a man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller announcing a robbery and implied he had a weapon. The clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured. Our officers quickly arrived on scene and searched the area along with K9 and our helicopter, Fairfax 1. The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a black baseball hat, a black hooded sweatshirt, a gray scarf, dark pants with a gray skirt over top and black gloves.
