MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

TRAFFIC PURSUIT: Richmond Highway at Belford Drive, 8/8/18, 11:05 p.m. Our officer observed a vehicle traveling south on Richmond Highway with illegal tint on the windows. The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle sped away. When the vehicle came to a stop, the driver got out of the vehicle and ran away. Other officers responding to the area found the driver and took him into custody. Alvin Donkor, 25, of Alexandria, was arrested for driving with a revoked license, disregarding police command to stop with endangerment to others (felony), and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 5800 block of Governors Hill Dr., 8/8/2018, 1:19 p.m. A resident called 911 to report that a man was breaking down his front door. When officers arrived at the house, they saw that the front door was open and damaged. The resident provided a detailed description for officers, which was shared with the community. As officers were looking for the man and checking for other possible victims, another resident called in after seeing the man in the area. Officers responded to this location and took the man into custody. Several houses were broken into and burglarized. Delonte Antwain Wright, 35, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with Burglary (3 charges) and Grand Larceny (2 charges).

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 9800 block of Sunrise Rd., 8/8/2018, 4:30 a.m. A resident woke up after hearing someone inside his garage. The lights in his garage were turned on, his back door was wide open, and there were several footprints leading away from the home. Nothing was damaged but several items were stolen.
