Man Charged with Soliciting Sex from Minor

An Illinois man is facing four felony charges after detectives from our Child Exploitation Unit caught him soliciting sex online from someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl. The 13-year-old was actually one of our detectives. The first contact was in July, and led to a multijurisdictional operation. During multiple conversations, 54-year-old Martin Bollhorst solicited sex numerous times.

Bollhorst was arrested yesterday in Illinois and is awaiting extradition to Fairfax County. He is facing four counts of using a communications system to facilitate certain offenses involving children. This was a collaborative effort and great investigative work with the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Will County (Illinois) State’s Attorney James Glasgow’s Crimes Against Children Unit, the Bradley Police Department, the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department, and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.
