Detectives Ask for Public’s Help in Oct. 6 Hit-and-Run Crash

Mount Vernon Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit are asking for the public’s help with information from a hit-and-run crash that occurred around 11 p.m. last night. The victim, an adult man, was attempting to cross the road near the intersection of Collingwood Road and Lynnfield Drive. He was struck by a car and taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Through their investigation, detectives believe the striking car to be a Nissan SUV, which should have damage to its undercarriage and possible minor front-end damage. Drugs and alcohol were not factors for the pedestrian.
