MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 5975 Richmond Highway (Red Roof Inn), 10/4/19, 7:30 p.m. A man entered the victim’s room, assaulted the victim and stole a purse. The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. The suspect is described as a black male.

ROBBERY: 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue, 10/5/19, 3:23 a.m. The victim dropped off a friend and an unknown man entered the back seat of his car. The man threatened him with a gun and demanded money. After a brief struggle, the man took cash and fled on foot. The suspect was described as a black man in his 20’s, 6’ tall, wearing all black clothing.

ROBBERY: 8400 block of Frye Road, 10/4/19, 9 p.m. Four young Hispanic men assaulted and took the victim’s wallet and cell phone. They fled the area on foot. Officers found Geremy Rodriguez Paz, 18, of Woodbridge, and Charlie Arevalo, 20, of New York, who were both arrested for the robbery.

ROBBERY: 2000 block of International Drive, 10/6/19, 3:10 p.m. Two victims got into their car after shopping. A man opened the back door and tried to steal their purses. The victim grabbed a hold of her purse and a struggle ensued. The man was able to steal the purse and the victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a thin black man, 30 to 40-years-old with a beard.

BURGLARY/STOLEN AUTO/DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: 1400 block of Woodhurst Boulevard, 10/6/19, 1:30 a.m. Two men entered a garage and stole a 2006 Audi A6. The homeowner heard the garage door open and went to investigate. He saw the car driving away and discharged one round from his firearm toward the car.

ROBBERY: Littler River Turnpike/Wadsworth Court, 10/5/19, 3:55 a.m. The victim was pushed to the ground by two men. One displayed a knife and demanded property. The suspects were described as Hispanic men in their 20s, 5’7”-5’8”, with black hair.

ROBBERY: 6000 block of Vista Drive, 10/6/19, 10:24 p.m. A man displayed a knife and demanded the victim’s purse. The victim ran away, unharmed and no property was relinquished. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man.

ROBBERY: 13200 block of Leafcrest Lane, 10/4/19, 6:30 p.m. The victim was walking home when she was confronted by a man who demanded her purse. The man hit her in the face, took the purse and fled on foot. He was described as a black male, thin and tall wearing a white shirt and earrings.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 2946 Chain Bridge Road (Oakton Cigars and More), 10/4/19, 2:50 a.m. Someone broke into the business overnight and stole merchandise.
