Update: Arrest Made Related to Construction Site Fatality

McLean Police District – The owner of Digges Development Corporation is facing charges related to the July 23 construction site death of 16-year-old employee, Spencer Lunde. On Monday, evidence was presented to a grand jury who indicted Thomas Digges, 48, of McLean, on charges of involuntary manslaughter and cruelty and injuries to children.  Digges turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center this morning. These charges were brought after a thorough investigation by detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau who worked closely with investigators from the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry, Occupational Safety and Health Program and Labor and Employment Law, Youth Employment Section. Juvenile Dead after Apparent Accident at Construction Site

McLean Police District- Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau continue to investigate after a juvenile died in a construction related accident in the 1800 block of Solitaire Lane in McLean. Officers and rescue personnel responded around 3:15 p.m. today for an adult man and a juvenile male who were trapped in a ditch that collapsed on a residential construction site. Both the man and juvenile were extracted from the ditch and taken to a nearby hospital. The man sustained injuries that are not considered life threatening. The juvenile was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to confirm cause of death.
