MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT: 1454 Chain Bridge Road (Giant), 8/31/20, 12:58 p.m. An employee asked a man to wear a mask while inside the store. Thomas Devanney, 33, of Mclean, threatened the employee with a knife, stole an item from the store and ran away. Officers found Devanney nearby and approached him to investigate. Devanney threw a knife at officers, which missed them. He was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. Devanney was treated for minor injuries at a hospital; one officer was treated for a minor injury at the scene.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

SHOOTING: 6000 block of Knollwood Drive, 8/29/20, 11:59 p.m. Officers responded for a shooting and found two men outside in a residential area suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. A dark colored vehicle was seen driving away from the area.

ROBBERY: 5600 Seminary Road, 8/30/20, 9:35 p.m. Two men forced their way into an apartment, displayed handguns and assaulted three victims. The men took cash and personal property. One of the victims was treated at a hospital with serious injuries.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

MISSILE INTO AN OCCUPIED DWELLING: 2900 block of Blue Holly Lane, 8/29/20, 10:28 p.m. A homeowner heard a loud noise and found a small hole in the drywall. A bullet was found on the floor a short distance away. Another homeowner found a small hole in the siding of a house and a bullet was found lodged in an interior cabinet. No injuries were reported.

ASSAULT/DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 4647 West Ox Road (Sunoco), 9/1/20, 1:13 pm Officers initially responded to the Fair Oaks Mall for a disorderly person who left prior to their arrival. Officers were then called to the Sunoco whereJoshua Kent, 33, of Fairfax, had entered the store and stole merchandise. Kent then left the store and assaulted employees outside. Employees locked the doors, but Kent forced entry into the store while acting disorderly and breaking glass. He also assaulted employees inside. Officers found Kent outside the store where he refused to comply with commands and charged at officers. Kent was arrested with the assistance of a police K-9 and was charged with two counts of assault, disorderly conduct, destruction of property, and trespassing. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
