SULLY DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 6200 block of Ridge Pond Road, 9/28/20, 7:04 p.m. A homeowner reported an unknown man entered his home. Officers arrived and saw the man running out of the back of the house. Mars Jones, 25, of Centreville, was arrested after a brief foot pursuit and charged with unlawful entry and giving false identity to law enforcement.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

SHOOTING: 7900 block of Jana Lee Avenue, 9/25/20, 5:25 p.m. Two people were driving in the area when a group of men shot at them and hit their car. No injuries were reported and the suspects were not located. Shell casings were recovered by officers.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 3100 Lockheed Boulevard (7-Eleven), 9/27/20, 5:11 p.m. A man entered the store, took merchandise without paying and was confronted by an employee as the man tried to leave. He implied he had a gun and left with the merchandise. No injuries were reported.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 6331 South Kings Highway (7-Eleven), 9/29/20, 11:35 p.m. Two men entered the store and displayed a gun, took cash and merchandise, then ran away. No injuries were reported.

ROBBERY: 5821 Richmond Hwy (Hampton Inn), 9/30/20, 2:19 a.m. A man met an acquaintance in the parking lot when he was approached by two other men who assaulted him, took cash, and ran away. The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 6055 Richmond Highway (Holiday Inn), 10/1/20, 3:59 p.m. Officers responded for a man acting disorderly who later made threats to harm himself. The man refused to come out of his room while officers tried to de-escalate the situation. Hours later, the man was safely taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 6100 block of Leesburg Pike, 9/29/20, 12:14 a.m. A man was involved in a dispute with a friend when three other men assaulted him, took his cash and personal property and left in a car. Minor injuries were reported.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

WARRANT SERVICE/TRESPASSING/RESISTING ARREST: 9000 block of Stonegarden Drive, 9/29/20, 1:44 p.m. Officers responded to the area of Hagel Circle for a man who was trespassing in a home. The man, Dumont McDonald, 45, of Lorton, also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. McDonald ran from officers and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. During the arrest, he refused to comply with instructions and resisted arrest. McDonald was charged with resisting arrest and served with a warrant for bail violation. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: Grandview Court at Mapleleaf Court, 9/29/20, 9:23 p.m.Two men arranged to exchange legal ownership of their cars to one another. During the transaction, Aaron Mulapi, 20, of Woodbridge stole the victim’s 2002 BMW sedan and drove away. A neighboring jurisdiction located the stolen car and Mulapi was charged with grand larceny.
