ROBBERY: 3800 block of Buckman Road, 11/17/20, 5:07 p.m. A juvenile attempted to sell a pair of shoes to two men; one man tackled the juvenile and took the pair of shoes. Both men ran from the area. No injuries were reported. 

VEHICLE PURSUIT/WARRANT SERVICE: 8600 block of Village Square, 11/18/20, 12:13 p.m. Officers were conducting an investigation when they located Dardea Dreher, 29, of Maryland, who was wanted for attempted murder in the first degree in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Officers attempted to stop Dreher who was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion, but he refused, which led to a pursuit. Dreher struck a police cruiser, and other cars, during the pursuit. Officers stopped the car on the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge but Dreher ran from the car before being caught by officers. The Prince George’s County Police Department took custody of Dreher. Fairfax County charges are pending. Three officers were treated for minor injuries; no other injuries were reported.

LARCENY/VEHICLE PURSUIT: 6700 Richmond Highway (Marshalls), 11/18/20, 4:04 p.m. Officers saw a 2000 Chevy Impala that was reported to be involved in a theft from the store and attempted to stop the car, but the driver refused, resulting in a pursuit. Officers were able to safely stop the car using a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) and take the driver, Timothy Stewart, 57, of Washington, D.C., into custody. He was charged with felony larceny, speed to elude, and display of fictious license plates. No injuries were reported.


ROBBERY: 8300 block of Greensboro Drive, 11/14/20, 3:39 p.m. The victim was approached by a man holding a knife who demanded money.  The man forcibly took a wallet from the victim before walking away from the area.  The victim suffered injuries that were not life threatening. 

ROBBERY: 8600 block of Westwood Center Drive, 11/19/20, 2:19 a.m. Three victims reported they were inside a hotel room when two men armed with guns forced their way into the room and assaulted one of the victims. The men took cash and personal property before walking away from the area. One victim was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.

RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 2400 block of Centreville Road (Village Center at Dulles), 11/14/20, 12:22 a.m. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot. A man fired a gun and left the area in a car. Shell casings were recovered at the scene. No injuries or property damage were reported. 

RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 2000 block of Soapstone Drive, 11/14/20, 10:17 p.m. A person driving a car fired a gun several times before leaving the area. A shell casing was recovered at the scene. No injuries or property damage were reported. 


BRANDISHING/RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 7200 block of Reservoir Road, 11/16/20, 6:34 p.m.  A group of juveniles were in the parking lot when they were approached by a teenager in a car. The teenager displayed a gun and fired it into the air several times before driving away. No injuries or property damage were reported.


SHOOTING (UPDATE FROM 11/11/20): 10300 block of Steamboat Landing Lane, 11/11/20, 11:45 a.m. Officers responded to a home for a reported shooting and found a 17-year-old boy suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Patrick Withee, 18, of Burke, who is known to the victim, was charged with reckless handling of a firearm. Detectives thoroughly examined evidence and conducted interviews which led them to determine Withee was handling a firearm when he accidentally discharged a single round, causing serious injuries to the victim.

SHOOTING: 4700 block of Parkman Court, 11/14/20, 11:43 p.m. A teenager was standing inside his home when he was shot by someone who was outside. A group of people ran from the area. The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. The shooting does not appear to be random.
