Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Annandale

Mason Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate a fatal crash that occurred Friday, June 4 at 2:13 a.m. on Maple Place near the intersection of Martin Avenue in Annandale. Preliminarily, detectives determined a 45-year-old man was crossing Maple Place from the north to south side of the roadway, not at an intersection. The driver of a 2015 Cadillac Escalade was traveling west on Maple Place and struck him. The driver remained at the scene. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, June 5. Next of kin has not been notified. Preliminarily, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors for the driver. The investigation remains active and details of the investigation will be presented to the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for review.

This is the 7th pedestrian fatality in the County to date in 2021.
