SULLY DISTRICT STATION 

ROBBERY: 6000 block of Union Mill Road, 11/19/21, 4:39 p.m. Four juveniles assaulted the victim and took property. The victim reported injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Detectives do not believe this was a random act, and the offenders were known to the victim.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION 

ROBBERY: 6300 block of Richmond Highway, 11/21/21, 11:55 a.m. A man approached the victim asking for property. When the victim refused, the man assaulted him and took property. The victim reported injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM: 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue, 11/22/21, 9 p.m. Two officers were participating in the iPAC initiative when they heard several gunshots. Officers immediately went towards where the sound came from and found a man firing a gun into the air. Using effective communication and teamwork, the officers convinced the man to drop the weapon. Officers safely took the man, 32, of Alexandria, into custody and charged him with reckless handling of a firearm and shooting within 1000 feet of a school. No injuries or property damage was reported.

ROBBERY: 7800 block of Richmond Highway, 11/23/21, 11:50 a.m. The victim was leaving a business when a man ran up to her and took property with force. No injuries were reported.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION  

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5830 Kingstowne Center (Ross), 11/20/21, 5:58 p.m. A female entered the business and took merchandise with force. No injuries were reported. 

SHOOTING: 5700 Telegraph Road (BP Auto Care), 11/21/21, 8:45 p.m. Officers responded to the BP gas station for the report of a fight and a man who discharged a firearm into the air. Shortly after, dispatch received an additional phone call to a home near the gas station for a man who reported to have been shot during the incident. The man was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. This does not appear to be a random act and detectives are investigating. 

STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: Edsall Road and I-395, 11/23/21, 8:08 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a stolen 2016 Honda Accord. The driver, a 21-year-old man from Springfield, attempted to run from the car, but was caught after a brief chase. No injuries were reported. The man was charged with grand larceny. 

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 9804 Gunston Road (7-Eleven), 11/24/21, 1:37 a.m. A man entered the business, displayed a firearm, and took property. No injuries were reported.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 7720 Telegraph Road (7-Eleven), 11/24/21, 2:24 a.m. A man entered the business, displayed a firearm, and took property. No injuries were reported.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION 

ROBBERY: 4700 block of Medford Drive, 11/22/21, 6:42 p.m. The victim agreed to meet a man at the location to sell property. Once at the location, three men approached the victim, produced knives and took his property. No injuries were reported.
