COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 7910 Richmond Highway (Walmart), 4/2/22, 1:23 p.m. A man took merchandise past the point of sale without paying. A store employee confronted the man and was assaulted. The man then left the area on foot. The employee reported injuries that were not considered life threatening.
LARCENY/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: 7910 Richmond Highway (Walmart), 4/3/22, 5:22 p.m. Officers responded for a shoplifting complaint. They found a 35-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman concealing merchandise. When officers confronted the woman, she ran, and the man assaulted officers. The man was arrested and taken to the hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening. The officers were not injured. The woman returned to the scene and was taken into custody. The man was charged with two felony counts of probation violation, one misdemeanor probation violation, petit larceny, assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. The woman was charged with two counts of misdemeanor probation violation, and petit larceny.

CARJACKING: Fairmont Street and Arlington Boulevard, 4/2/22, 4:12 p.m. The victim met a man to sell his 2011 Mercedes GLK. When the victim allowed the man to test drive the Mercedes, he displayed a firearm, and took the victim’s personal property and car. The victim was treated for injuries not considered life threatening.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING (SHOOTING): 4000 block of Wadsworth Court, 4/4/22, 10:52 p.m. The victim was walking in the area when he noticed a sedan following him. A man got out of the sedan and shot the victim multiple times. The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries that were serious but not considered life threatening. The suspect left the area in the sedan after the shooting. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that led to this shooting. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING (STABBING): 4100 block of Wadsworth Court, 4/6/22, 9:16 p.m. The victim was in the apartment building’s laundry room when a man began assaulting him. During the assault, the victim was stabbed. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries considered life threatening. The victim was ultimately upgraded to stable condition. The man fled on foot. Preliminary, detectives do not believe this to be a random act, and do not believe it to be related to the shooting on 4/4/22 in the same apartment complex.

ROBBERY: 6700 block of Bland Street, 4/4/22, 2:21 p.m. Two men approached the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded property. The men then left the area on foot. No injuries were reported.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/MOB ASSAULT: 6500 block of Springfield Mall Drive, 4/4/22, 8:30 p.m. A group of juveniles assaulted the victim while demanding property. The group then left the area on foot. The victim reported injuries that were not considered life threatening.
WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
WEAPONS VIOLATION: 9200 block of Blue Steel Way, 4/1/22, 6:12 p.m. The victim heard a suspicious noise and called police. When officers arrived, they found a rear window broken and recovered a bullet laying on the ground. No other damage or injuries were reported.
