Man Arrested in Connection with Commercial Burglaries in Annandale

ATTEMPTED COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 8768 Richmond Highway (Subway), 6/12/22, 10:33 a.m. A man entered the business, jumped over the counter and demanded money. The victim refused, and the man assaulted the employee as he ran out of the business. No money was taken. No injuries were reported. 

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 3100 Lockheed Boulevard (7-Eleven), 6/14/22. Three men entered the business, implied they had a firearm and took money as well as merchandise. The men fled the area in a silver minivan. No injuries were reported. 

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 6303 Richmond Highway (Walmart), 6/14/22, 10:29 p.m. A man took merchandise without paying. When confronted by a store employee, the man assaulted the victim and drove away in a tan sedan. The victim was treated for injuries not considered life threatening. 

ROBBERY: Evergreen Farm Place/Ladson Lane, 6/15/22, 4:32 p.m. Three juveniles approached the victim, assaulted him and took property. No injuries were reported. 

STOLEN AUTO WITH APPREHENSION: 7600 block of Richmond Highway, 6/16/22, 5:57 p.m. An officer saw a stolen 2002 Hyundai Elantra driving south on Richmond Highway. The vehicle was stopped, and the occupants were arrested. Through an investigation, two firearms and ammunition were found inside the Elantra. The driver, a 24-year-old man, was charged with receiving stolen property, felon in possession of ammunition, theft of credit cards, unlawful purchase of firearm and driving without a license. A 21-year-old woman was charged with unlawful purchase of a firearm. 


ROBBERY: 8500 block of Leesburg Pike, 6/10/22, 5:33 p.m. A 41-year-old women followed victim into the restroom. She assaulted the victim, took personal property and ran away. Officers quickly found the suspect nearby and arrested her. She was charged with robbery.

ASSAULT/VEHICLE PURSUIT: 1500 Block of Cornerside Boulevard, 6/12/22, 8 p.m. A male juvenile verbally threatened the victim. Officers found the juvenile nearby. The juvenile ran from the scene, got into a vehicle and attempted to drive away. While driving, the juvenile struck two vehicles. An officer successfully conducted a precision immobilization technique (PIT), and the juvenile was arrested. Two community members were treated for injuries not considered life threatening. The juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center where petitions were obtained.  


COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 5920 Summers Lane (Bailey’s Community Center), 6/12/22, 4:50 p.m. Officers responded to the community center for several security alarm activations. A 25-year-old man was found on the rooftop. He was arrested and charged with burglary, false identification to law enforcement and obstruction of justice. Two outstanding warrants were also served. He was treated for injuries not considered life threatening.

BANK ROBBERY: 9405 Lorton Market Street (Bank of America), 6/10/22, 11:22 am. A man entered the bank, announced a robbery, took money and ran away. No injuries were reported.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6816 Bland Street (Springfield Butcher), 6/12/22, 10 a.m. Someone forced entry into the business, damaged property and took money. 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 5710 Telegraph Road (Speedway Gas), 6/16/22, 12:45 a.m. A 45-year-old man forced entry into the business. The alarm company was alerted and was able to view the man taking merchandise on security cameras. Officers responded and quickly arrested him nearby. He was charged with burglary, possession of burglarious tools and petit larceny.


COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 8414 Old Keene Mill Road (Walgreens), 6/11/22, 1:48 p.m. An 18-year-old man entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money. He then ran away. Officers quickly located and arrested the man nearby. He was charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. No injuries were reported.
