Thieves Target Gaming Machines at Convenience Stores

Detectives continue to investigate the theft of convenience store gaming machines throughout the County. Since the end of last year, six thefts have occurred. In each incident, thieves enter the store and forcibly remove the devices or open the machines to steal money. Detectives are seeking the community’s assistance with identifying the suspects in these cases.

Our detectives and Crime Prevention Officers continue to work closely with business owners to provide tips to help keep them and their property safe. Business owners should secure gaming machines and ATMs to the floor. Owners should ensure security cameras are in good working order. Windows on the front of businesses should be clear of any obstruction. If a crime is in progress, contact police immediately.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call our Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers by phone – 1-866-411-TIPS (866-411-8477), and by web – Click HERE. Download the ‘P3 Tips’ App “Fairfax Co Crime Solvers”.
