Robbery Suspect Arrested, Domestic Dog Shot

Around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, a 20-year old man was in a parked car with several other individuals in the 11500 block of Fairfax Station Road. Someone in the car displayed a handgun and took money and property from the victim. The victim then exited the car and the suspects drove away. The victim then contacted police. There were no injuries.

Following investigative leads, police located a suspect in this robbery at a residence in the 4100 block of Morrisons Way. The suspect was contacted by phone and he came outside to surrender. While placing the suspect in custody a pit bull dog exited the house and charged the officers. One of the officers then shot the dog. After completing the arrest, officers were able to contain the wounded dog and transport it to a local veterinarian clinic. The dog is expected to recover.

This case remains under active investigation at this time.
