Fairfax City Teen Found Deceased

Sully Police District – Fairfax County Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Cara Lynn Golias,16 of Fairfax City. After an extensive search, Golias was found near the railroad bridge trestle in the 13200 block of Yates Ford Road in the Hemlock Overlook Regional Park at around 1 p.m. on Monday, September 29.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, however detectives do not suspect any criminal activity nor public safety threat involved.

 City of Fairfax Police Seek Public’s Help

In Locating Missing 16 Year Old

The City of Fairfax Police Department is requesting information from members of the public which will assist in locating a missing 16 year old City resident. Cara Lynn Golias was last seen on the afternoon of Sunday, September 28 in the vicinity of Manassas Park Middle School. She is believed to have voluntarily left that area by walking through nearby woods which were initially searched by Manassas Park City and Prince William County Police officers. She has not been in contact with her family since that time.

Cara Golias is described as white, about five feet five inches tall, weighing approximately 115 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a white shirt with sequins, jean shorts and silver and turquoise dream catcher earrings. Police would like to hear from anyone, particularly persons in the Manassas Park City, Prince William County and western Fairfax County areas, as well as the City of Fairfax, who may have seen Cara since the afternoon of Sunday, September 28, or have any information regarding her present whereabouts.
