Reported Carjacking in the Fairfax Area

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Friday, November 7, police responded for a report of a carjacking in the 3000 block of Nutley Street. The suspect approached the victim in the parking lot of a shopping center, produced a handgun and forced the victim into her own vehicle. The suspect then had the victim drive to nearby banks to withdraw money. The suspect exited the vehicle at the New Carrollton Metro Station. The victim did not require medical attention.

Police detectives have a composite sketch of the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Fairfax County police detectives are working with detectives from Metro Transit police who are investigating a similar case in their jurisdiction.
