Update to Death Investigation in McLean

 

Detectives worked through the night and have now determined the identities of the decedents as well as the sequence of events leading to their deaths.
23-year-old Helen Lorena Hargan shot her mother, 63-year-old Pamela Denise Hansen Hargan, and then shot herself.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies today and will make official determination of cause and manner of death.
Detectives want to reassure neighbors that the 7-year-old child was not home at the time of the incident and is safe with her mother.
Also, all of the family dogs have been accounted for.
