UPDATE: Man Turns Himself in for Attempted Fitting Room Filming after Detectives Release Surveillance Images to the Public

A 50-year-old Bristow man has been arrested for the attempted unlawful filming of a minor in the fitting room of a store in Fair Oaks Mall on January 7. Rudolph Doering turned himself in over the weekend after seeing the photos on TV that we released of him on our social media pages last week.

An investigation revealed that a 13-year-old girl shopping at Hollister Co. was changing in the fitting room when she saw a cell phone which appeared to be recording her from the stall beside hers. On January 12, we released images to the public of a person of interest in the case. Doering saw himself on TV and responded to the Sully District Station on January 14 where he met with detectives. A warrant was obtained this afternoon charging him with one count of attempted unlawful filming of a minor. He turned himself in at the Adult Detention Center shortly after.

We appreciate the cooperation of Hollister Co. employees throughout the investigation, and we thank everyone who helped us share the images captured by surveillance cameras at the mall to solve this case.

Detectives Seeking Person of Interest in Unlawful Filming of a Minor in a Fitting Room at Fair Oaks Mall

 Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in a case of unlawful filming of a minor at a store in Fair Oaks Mall. It happened at Hollister Co. between 2 and 3 last Sunday afternoon when a 13-year-old girl was trying on clothes inside the fitting room. She heard a noise in the stall beside hers and when she looked down, she saw a cell phone that appeared to be filming her while she changed.

The victim reported the incident to her mother who then notified Hollister Co. employees. The store has been cooperating fully with the investigation and their loss prevention team has been in contact with our officers regularly.

Video footage was provided to us which shows a man inside the store around the time of the offense. Officers say this is someone who may have information regarding the case and they are not calling him a suspect at this time.
