Fairfax Man Charged with Sex Offenses with a Child

Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives arrested Joseph Patrick Gamerl, 53, of Fairfax, on Friday, June 17, and charged him with taking indecent liberties with a child and aggravated sexual battery. The arrest came as a result of an investigation that began on May 9, when the 10-year-old victim disclosed to a family member that the suspect had touched her inappropriately. Major Crimes Division detectives became involved and launched their investigation. Detectives would like to speak with anyone who has information that may assist with this investigation or may have had similar encounters with Gamerl.
