GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Virginia Department of Transportation will be milling and paving on Guinea Road, reducing it to one lane, alternating between Braddock Road and Route 236 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the next few weeks. Stay alert and follow officers’ direction. They will be in the work zone for safety.

ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT

Several officers in the Sully District participated in a sobriety checkpoint Friday, September 9, on Route 28 and Old Mill Road, from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. 806 cars were screened, with four summonses issued, and no DWI’s.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 8100 block of Richmond Highway, 09/11/16, 2:06 a.m. An officer responded to a commercial burglary alarm and observed the front door to a business was shattered. The owner of the business responded and noted that nothing was taken. The case is under further investigation.

ROBBERY: W&OD trail east of Reston Parkway, 09/09/16, 10:40 p.m. A man was walking on a pathway when he was allegedly assaulted by four men. The suspects took his wallet and then fled on foot. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects were all described as Hispanic.
