MALICIOUS WOUNDING / BURGLARY / DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 2500 block of John Milton Drive (Glory Days), 04/14/17, 12:37 a.m. A man approached and threatened patrons and employees that were on the front patio. The suspect was swinging a large chain forcing the employees to retreat into the building and lock the doors. The suspect broke the front doors to the business with his chain, entered, and continued to swing his chain at employees. He confronted the bartender who was on the phone with police and grabbed the phone from him and then proceeded to break numerous glasses and bottles. The suspect walked to the rear of the restaurant encountering another employee. The suspect struck the 58-year-old man injuring his hand and exited out the back. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A short time later, officers were called to a nearby house located in the 2500 block of Freetown Drive for a burglary of an occupied dwelling. The homeowner awoke to the sound of glass breaking. A man had broken both windows alongside of the front door and was attempting to enter. He fled the scene when the homeowner yelled at him. The suspect was later found lying under a nearby car. Quan Anh Ly, 33, of Herndon, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, burglary, and felony destruction of property. More charges may be forthcoming. There is no mugshot available at this time.
