UPDATE: Anonymous Tip Leads to an Arrest of “Upskirting” Suspect at Walmart

West Springfield District –A Crime Solvers tip led to the arrest of Guy Joseph Parsons, 53, of Fairfax, earlier this morning.

Detectives from our Major Crimes Division followed up on an anonymous tip received through a Crime Solvers text-a-tip. Through the investigation, a strong lead was developed and Parsons was taken into custody near his home in the 4900 block of Wycliff Lane in Fairfax. He was taken to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with 18.2-386.1, Unlawful filming of a minor.

West Springfield Police District – Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who secretly recorded females inside a Walmart, located at 6000 Burke Commons Road, on Sunday, May 14 around 11 a.m. An investigation determined the suspect used a recording device to unlawfully record up the dresses of a 10-year-old girl and a 36-year-old woman. The child’s mother confronted him and he left the store before officers arrived. This type of unlawful filming is known as “upskirting.”

The suspect was described as white, in his 40s, approximately 6 feet tall, and 175 pounds. He was wearing a black polo-style shirt, black pants, dark shoes, and a black baseball cap with the Adidas logo. He left the parking lot in a silver or gray Honda Crosstour, or similar vehicle.
