UPDATE: Detectives Release Additional Information Regarding the Stabbing on a Path in Fairfax

Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives continue their investigation into this morning’s stabbing of a woman on a path adjacent to Vaden Drive in Fairfax and we are sharing the most recent information available about this incident.

The victim is 21 years old. Her condition remains non-life-threatening. The suspect is a male of unknown race, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build. He had a light to medium brown complexion. He was wearing a black, hooded shirt pulled over his head.

Detectives and patrol officers in cars and on bicycles have spent hours canvassing the area this afternoon, seeking additional information. Additional officers will be in the area tonight. They will be out again tomorrow morning around 7, looking for witnesses and anyone with information about this crime.

(07/27/17) Search Ongoing for Stabbing Suspect in Fairfax

Fair Oaks Police District- There is an ongoing search for the person who stabbed a woman walking on a path which parallels Vaden Drive near the intersection of Sprague Avenue.

Shortly after 7:30 this morning, officers from the Fair Oaks District were flagged down by a citizen reporting someone had been stabbed. Officers located the victim, a woman in her 20’s. A preliminary investigation determined a man approached her from behind, and stabbed her in the neck. The suspect ran away, and was last seen heading toward Blake Lane. The victim was taken to the hospital, with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect has been described as a male, possibly Hispanic. Initial reports were that he was in a black hoodie, but we now believe he was actually wearing a white t-shirt. The search is ongoing for the suspect. Detectives are canvassing the area, and attempting to identify and interview potential witnesses.
