MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: 7212 Fordson Road (Quality Inn), 11/5/17 around 2:15 a.m. Officers responded after gun shots were heard in the area. They located several shell casings in the parking lot and in a nearby fence. There was damage to the building itself, but the bullets did not penetrate through the wall and no injuries were reported. Detectives are investigating.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 7900 block of Eagle Avenue, 11/4/17 around 12:30 a.m.  A woman was walking home when she was approached by two teenaged girls. They demanded money and began assaulting her. A citizen intervened and was able to hold the two girls until police arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with attempted robbery.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

STOLEN VEHICLE /TRAFFIC PURSUIT/ARREST: Jaguar Trail/Arlington Boulevard, 11/5/17 around 1:20 a.m. An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed through a residential neighborhood with license plates registered to a different car. He attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver kept going. The vehicle crashed a short distance later near Fairview Park Drive and the two occupants attempted to run from officers. Neither was injured and both were taken into custody. The driver, 19-year-old Jose Fuentes Guzman, of Fairfax, was charged with possession of stolen property, felony speed to elude, and driving without a license. The passenger was not charged.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: 13200 block of Overcup Oak Court, 11/5/17 around 9:30 p.m. Officers responded after a man was seen exposing himself in a stairwell. The area was checked, but he was not located.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

ASSAULT/ARREST: 9274 Old Keene Mill Road (Shoppers Food Warehouse), 11/3/17 around 3:45 p.m. A man entered the store and was behaving disorderly. When confronted by employees, he displayed a weapon and shoved a staff member before running from the store. A citizen called in a tip and an officer from the Neighborhood Patrol Unit located the suspect nearby. Jacob Koehler, 23, was arrested and charged with assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 12600 block of Tolman Road, between 9 p.m. on 11/2/17 and 8:30 a.m. on 11/3/17. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a garage opener. They then used the garage opener to get into the home and stole money from inside. Investigation ongoing.
