Officers Seize Handgun and Drugs from Convicted Felon

 

Fair Oaks Police District – A Leesburg man is facing multiple felony charges after an investigation by police.  Officers from the Fair Oaks District Station saw a suspicious vehicle parked in the 13900 block of Metrotech Drive in Chantilly late last week.  While officers were speaking to the driver they were able to see marijuana inside the car.  During a search of the car they found a handgun, ammunition, and drugs.  37-year-old Edward Dawson was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana. Dawson is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
