FCPD WEEKEND RECAP FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 26
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5740 Union Mill Road (Giant), 12/22/17 around 7:45 p.m. The suspect entered the store and approached the pharmacy department. The suspect demanded medication from the employees then left the store. Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the suspect. No one was injured and the case is ongoing.
TRAFFIC PURSUIT/HIT AND RUN/RECKLESS DRIVING/ASSAULT ON AN OFFICER: Lee Highway/Stringfellow Road, 12/22/17 around 11:00 p.m. An officer observed a car being operated in a reckless manner. The officer initiated a traffic stop but the driver did not stop. A pursuit began and during the course of the pursuit the suspect struck a marked Fairfax County Police cruiser that was assisting in the pursuit and disabled it. The suspect continued onto I66 where the vehicle eventually came to a stop. Stephen Naples, 63, of Florida, was arrested and charged with assault on an officer, reckless driving, hit and run, and eluding police. The officer’s cruiser that was struck sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Naples is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

ROBBERY: 8600 block of Beekman Place, 12/22/17 around 9:40 p.m. The victim, who is a delivery man, was delivering a pizza to a residence. He was approached by a man who sprayed the victim with pepper spray and took the pizza. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries and the case is ongoing.
DISTRIBUTION OF MARIJUANA/OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE: Boswell Avenue/Richmond Highway, 12/22/17 around 3:30 p.m. An officer observed a car with defective equipment. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer was able to smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. Both the driver and passenger were asked to get out of the car but they refused. Eventually, they got out of the car and officers found narcotics inside. Stephen Mack, 33, of the District of Columbia, and Ashley Pollock, 30, of Maryland, were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and obstruction of justice.
ROBBERY: 5946 Richmond Highway (Best Smokes), 12/24/17 around 3:00 p.m. Two men entered the store and demanded money. The suspects were described as two black men wearing dark clothing. The suspects were able to get an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the store. The victim was not injured and the case is ongoing.

STOLEN AUTO/ FORGERY/ARREST: 7500 block of Parkwood Court, 12/23/17 around 6:30 a.m. The victim was warming up their car and left it unlocked. When they returned to the car it was gone. Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the car. A short time later an officer noticed the car and conducted a traffic stop. They took two suspects into custody. Inside the car officers located altered and forged checks. Wilmer Lara Garcia, 23, of Falls Church, was arrested and charged with auto theft and two counts of forgery. Orlen Nunez, 24, of Falls Church, was arrested and charged with auto theft.
BURGLARY: 4000 block of Oxford Street, 12/24/17 around 4:00 p.m. Someone entered the residence and took clothing, jewelry, and cash. The case is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED LARCENY BY FALSE PRETENSES/ARREST: 6500 Springfield Mall, 12/21/17 around 6:50 p.m. A plain clothes officer was approached by a man and a woman in a car who were trying to sell fake MacBook Pro laptops. The officer noticed the laptops did not appear to be authentic and offered to meet the man a short while later to buy one. Once the officer left the man, a team was organized and they conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle as it returned to the area to sell the fraudulent merchandise. Officers found numerous fake MacBook Pro laptops and narcotics inside the vehicle. Caliente Houston, 37, of Georgia was arrested and charged with attempted larceny by false pretense and nine counts of copyright infringement. Kristen Edmond, 30, of Missouri was arrested and charged with attempted larceny by false pretense, eight counts of copyright infringement and possession of marijuana.

BURGLARY: 10500 block of Sideburn Court, 12/23/17 around 12:00 a.m. Someone entered the residence and moved items around inside. Nothing was taken and the investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY/POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I OR II DRUG: 12400 block of Ox Hill Road, 12/22/17 around 1:00 a.m. The victim is a taxi cab driver and was dropping off the suspect at their destination. The suspect refused to pay for their fare and began to assault the victim. During the assault the suspect took money from the victim and left the cab and entered a nearby residence. Officers were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody. Donald Murray, 47, of Fairfax, was arrested and charged with robbery and possession of a schedule I or II drug. He is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries during the assault.
BANK ROBBERY: 13045 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway (BB&T), 12/22/17 around 3:00 p.m. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured and the case is ongoing.
GRAND LARCENY/ASSAULT ON AN OFFICER/ARREST: 11750 Fair Oaks Shopping Center (Victoria Secret), 12/23/17 around 3:15 p.m. An officer was investigating a larceny when the suspect ran from the officer. The officer started to chase the suspect and a citizen started to chase the suspect to help the officer. The officer and citizen were able to catch the suspect and they both were assaulted by the suspect. Samantha Darrah, 30, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with assault of an officer, simple assault, grand larceny, and resisting arrest. The officer and citizen both sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Darrah was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and was held on no bond.
GRAND LARCENY/POSSESSION OF BURGLARIOUS TOOLS: 12551 Fair Lakes Circle (Kohls), 12/23/17 around 12:50 p.m. Officers responded to the Kohls for a larceny that was taking place. Loss prevention officers had observed two juveniles stealing merchandise. Officers were able to locate the juveniles and they were arrested. The juveniles were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center where petitions were issued for grand larceny, possession of burglarious tools, and petit larceny.
