UPDATE: Victim in Fatal Pedestrian Crash Identified

The victim of the fatal pedestrian crash has been identified as Dayssy Avalo, 36, of Falls Church.

Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Falls Church Area of Fairfax County

McLean Police District – Our Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives are currently investigating a fatal pedestrian collision.  A preliminary investigation revealed a 36-year-old woman was hit shortly after 2 this morning while attempting to cross Arlington Boulevard near Graham Road outside of a marked crosswalk.  The driver was traveling westbound on Arlington Boulevard. He stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.  Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be factors for the driver. It is yet to be determined if alcohol was a factor for the pedestrian.  At this point, no charges are expected. The pedestrian’s name is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified.
