SULLY DISTRICT STATION

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 1636 Belle View Blvd, 9/21/18, 8:09 p.m. Officers responded to the Belle View Shopping Center for a report of a purse snatching. A woman was walking to her car carrying her purse when a man grabbed it from her. The man ran to a nearby car which was waiting for him. The suspect is described as a 20-year-old black man, approximately six feet tall and 180 pounds with short hair. He is said to have an athletic build and was seen wearing a black shirt and dark pants. Officers believe they drove away in a newer model four-door Honda Civic which is believed to be gray in color.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT / DESTRUCTION: 8200 block of Russell Rd, 9/21/18 4:29 p.m. Officers noticed 30-year-old Nehemiah Coleman, of Alexandria, walking and verified he had an outstanding warrant. The officers also noticed he was carrying a pocket knife. Officers told Coleman he was under arrest and attempted to place him in handcuffs when he actively resisted. Officers eventually placed him in handcuffs and brought him to a police cruiser at which time Coleman kicked one of the officers in the groin. Coleman also kicked the cruiser causing approximately $1000 in damage. He was brought to the detention center and charged with assault on law enforcement, obstruction by threat, destruction of property, and attempt to flee from law enforcement.

TRESPASSING / DESTRUCTION: 3800 block of Segundo Pl, between 9/21/18 and 9/23/18. Officer’s responded for an open-door investigation. The homeowner inspected one of his investment properties and noticed the door was unlocked and open. Officer’s checked the residence and determined the apartment had been vandalized.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY / DESTRUCTION: 3800 block of Needles Pl, between 9/22/18 and 9/23/18. The homeowner returned home from work and discovered the balcony sliding glass door smashed and it appeared someone had made entry into their house. At the time of the report, no items were found missing.

DESTRUCTION / RECKLESS DISCHARGE: 8700 block of Richmond Hwy, 9/22/18, 2:51 a.m. Officer’s responded for a shooting in the parking lot of Club One. Officers found several shell casings and determined several parked vehicles had been shot. No one was injured. Detectives are following up on leads.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: 8300 block of Richmond Hwy, 9/22/18, 8:27 p.m. Officers found 39-year-old Christopher Finley, of Alexandria, staggering and waving his arms. As officers approached to investigate, Finley lunged at one of the officers pushing the officer in the chest and attempted to punch the officer several times. Officers used an electronic control weapon to gain control of Finley who was transported to the detention center for assault on law enforcement, drunk in public, and was found to have an outstanding warrant for larceny.

ROBBERY: 7900 block of Audubon Ave, 9/22/18, 10:27 p.m. Officers responded for a report of a pizza delivery person robbed of his food and money. The victim was assaulted by a group of suspects in their late teens or early twenties. The assailants took the food he was carrying along with $35. Several officers checked the area with the assistance of our helicopter. Detectives are following up on leads.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

PURSUIT: 7000 block of Arlington Blvd, 9/21/18, 12:39 a.m. An officer observed 24-year-old Ryan Bras, of Falls Church, traveling West on Arlington Boulevard at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his emergency equipment to stop Bras who accelerated leading the officer in a pursuit. Bras soon after lost control of his motorcycle landing the bike on its side. Bras was uninjured. He was taken to the Adult Detention Center and arrested for reckless driving and speed to elude.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 6001 Leesburg Pike, 9/23/18, at 9:30 p.m. An officer on patrol noticed what looked like an argument between four people in the parking lot of the Culmore Shopping Center. It was determined the victim was standing in the lot when he was approached by multiple men who he didn’t know. One suspect pulled out a knife and demanded money and property. The suspects spotted a police cruiser in the area and ran away. Detectives are following leads to identify those responsible.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

EXPOSURE: 7900 block of Inverton Rd, 9/22/18, 11:04 p.m. A security guard was patrolling the area on foot when he noticed a man acting suspicious between two parked cars. He approached the man suspecting he may’ve been attempting to break into one of the vehicles. The guard determined the man was urinating in public. The guard challenged the man who turned and exposed himself to the guard. The man fled on foot and was not located or identified. There is no description of the suspect.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

BURGLARY: 3200 block of Fox Mill Rd, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on 9/21/18. Officers responded for a report of a burglary. The homeowner returned home and found several items missing from their house.  The homeowner believes that all doors were locked however no signs of forced entry were found. The only items taken were two purses and two pairs of women’s shoes valued at $10,000.

DESTRUCTION: 2500 block of Banshire Dr, between 9/12/18 and 9/20/2018. Officers responded for a destruction of property. The homeowner reported that the house has been vacant and on September 20 they noticed there was a broken window. Upon further inspection, it appeared a suspect may have been squatting in the home. Officer’s checked the home and did not locate anyone inside.
