Detectives Asking for Information About Farea Sisters Disappearance

NYPD detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the Farea sisters who were found dead in New York on October 24.  Tala, 16, and Rotana, 22, both from Fairfax Corner, were reported missing to FCPD on September 12. They were last heard from on August 24. The sisters were entered in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.  Although the NYPD is leading the investigation, we are assisting their detectives and asking if anyone has information about the whereabouts of the Farea sisters leading up to their death to please contact our Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800.

We are now able to share the Farea sisters’ identities publicly, despite Tala being a juvenile, because her family provided our detectives written consent as required by law. As a law enforcement agency in Virginia, we are barred from releasing juvenile crime victims’ identity unless we have written consent.
