ROBBERY: 13825 Lee Highway (Exxon), 02/10/19, 10:16 p.m. A man entered the Exxon with a knife and demanded money from the register. The man took cash and left on foot. The man is described as black, 6’, 180, wearing a dark sweatshirt and jacket, jeans and athletic shoes.

BURGLARY: 8200 block of Russell Road, 02/08/19, 8:42 a.m. Officers responded to a burglary report and located the suspect still on scene. Veronica Bempong, 42, of Alexandria, entered the victim’s apartment and took items from the home. Bempong was arrested for burglary and petit larceny.

BURGLARY: 02/08/19, 3100 block of Graham Road, 7:53 p.m. The victim arrived home and found that personal items, including electronics and clothing, were missing from a bedroom.
POSSESSION NARCOTICS: I-495 at I-66, 02/09/19, 2:16 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a stolen car. It was determined the license plate on the car was stolen and multiple narcotics were located inside the vehicle, crack cocaine, marijuana, edibles and heroin. Octavia Day, 34, of Chesapeake was charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of stolen property, no registration, possession of schedule 1 narcotics and possession of marijuana. Latricia James, 27, of Newport News, was charged with possession of marijuana. Danielle Garner, 27, of Hampton , was charged with possession of schedule 1 narcotics.
ASSAULT: 1600 block of International Drive, 02/10/19, 7:23 p.m. Officers responded to the location for an altercation between a man and a woman. Officers located the victim in the lobby with cuts to her face. The victim stated she was at the location to have her taxes done when she got into an argument with the man she was meeting. He assaulted her and she was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Steven Sweet, 28, of McLean was arrested for malicious wounding.

LARCENY/POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS: 6200 Little River Turnpike (Giant), 02/10/19, 9:17 p.m. Employees at Giant caught a man and a woman shoplifting. The suspects had additional stolen merchandise in the vehicle as well as narcotics. David Vargas Ruiz, 29, and Olga Argudo, 45, of Flushing NY were arrested on multiple charges. This case is still under investigation.
BURGLARY: 5600 block of Seminary Road, 02/10/19, 10:30 p.m. The victim returned home to find lights on and items scattered around her apartment. She immediately called police who checked the apartment and located a man inside. Nickolai Salazar, 20, of no fixed address was arrested for burglary and destruction of property.

BURGLARY: 2300 block of Rolling Fork Circle, 02/09/19, 3:09 p.m. Victim returned home to find her door damaged and items out of place in her apartment. It appears jewelry and clothing were taken.

LARCENY/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: 6500 Springfield Mall (Springfield Town Center), 02/08/19, 7:26 p.m. JC Penny employees called officers to the location for a man who was taking large amounts of merchandise into the fitting room. Officers saw the man walk to his vehicle where he began to take out stolen merchandise from his clothing. When officers attempted to arrest the man, he began to fight the officers, biting one officer on their arm and face. The man continued to kick the officers who arrested him with the assistance of a citizen. One officer was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Jeremy Delvalle, 28, of Woodbridge was charged with assault on law enforcement, obstruction with force, petit larceny (3rd and subsequent), and possession of marijuana.

DWI / PURSUIT: Stringfellow Rd/Lee Highway, 02/09/19, 1:29 a.m. Officers attempted to make contact with an unresponsive driver stopped at an intersection. When the driver woke up she drove off before stopping for officers a short distance later. The driver, Liliane Rukundo, 27, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and eluding.
