2016 Homicide Suspect Arrested in El Salvador; Extradited to Fairfax County

Mason Police District – Adonay Polanco Cabrera, 25, formerly of Culmore, arrived in Fairfax County on Aug. 18 after being extradited from El Salvador with the assistance of several federal law enforcement partners to include the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Marshals Service. Polanco Cabrera left Northern Virginia following the Nov. 2016 murder of Leif Ohlsson and was arrested in July 2018 by authorities in El Salvador. Polanco Cabrera was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was served indictments for first degree murder, burglary and grand larceny. He is currently being held without bond.

Fredy Cisneros Agustin, 28, of Culmore, plead guilty to second degree murder in Nov. 2017 and is awaiting sentencing.

Update: Victim of Falls Church Homicide Identified

Mason Police District – Detectives have identified the decedent of the Falls Church homicide as Leif Erick Ohlsson, 69, of the 5500 block of Seminary Road.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

The investigation is ongoing.

Update to Falls Church Homicide; Three in Custody

Detectives have been investigating all possible leads to last night’s homicide in Falls Church and have three in custody. Fredy Cisneros Agustin, 24, of the 6000 block of Vista Drive in Falls Church was arrested and charged with murder and burglary. Gabriel Coca, 31, of the 6000 block of Vista Drive in Falls Church was arrested and charged with burglary. Jose Nasario Perez Amaya, 27, of the 3300 block of Argyle Drive in Falls Church was arrested and charged with burglary.

We are asking for the public’s help in finding Adonay Polanco Cabrera, 21, of the 6000 block Vista Drive in Falls Church. He is wanted for burglary in relation to this case. More charges could be forthcoming.

 Next of kin has not been notified.

Detectives Investigate Homicide in Falls Church

Mason Police District – Officers responded to the report of a suspicious event at an apartment in the 5500 block of Seminary Road, on Thursday, November 24, shortly after 10 p.m. Based on their initial investigation, they determined that an adult male had sustained trauma to the upper body and was deceased. Homicide and Crime Scene detectives were called to the scene and are in the initial stages of their investigation.

Detectives have one suspect in custody. At this time, there doesn’t appear to be a threat to the public and there is no further information available.
