SULLY DISTRICT STATION

WEAPONS VIOLATION: Arrowhead Park Drive at Matthews Vista Drive, 1/11/21, 1:15 a.m. Officers checked the area for a report of gunshots. Shell casings were located in the area, no injuries were reported.

MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION

MISSILE INTO AN OCCUPPIED DWELLING: 7900 block of Frye Road, 1/11/21, 10:30 p.m. A homeowner heard gunshots outside and discovered his window was shattered. Officers responded and located a bullet lodged in a nearby wall. No injuries were reported.

STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: Richmond Highway at Boswell Avenue, 1/12/21, 4:28 a.m. Officers stopped a 2007 Chevrolet truck that was reported stolen from a neighboring jurisdiction. Antonio Gunn, 47, of Richmond, was charged with grand larceny auto theft.

STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: Richmond Highway at Spring Drive, 1/13/21, 8:24 p.m. Officers stopped a 2020 Subaru station wagon that was reported stolen from a neighboring jurisdiction. Brandon Sutton, 31, of Maryland, was charged with grand larceny auto theft.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 2001 International Drive (Saks Fifth Avenue), 1/10/21, 4:04 p.m. Two men went into the store, took merchandise and attempted to leave. As the men left, they threatened to assault a store employee. No injuries were reported.

ROBBERY: 6244 Old Dominion Drive (Safeway), 1/14/21, 8:15 p.m. A man and a woman took two carts of merchandise without paying. As they were leaving, they assaulted two store employees. No injuries were reported.

MASON DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 4200 block of John Marr Drive, 1/9/21, 7:30 p.m. The victim was sitting in his parked car when a man approached with a gun and demanded money. The man took cash and ran away.

ROBBERY: 4200 block of Whitney Street, 1/9/21, 4 p.m. The victim was walking home when three men assaulted him. During the assault, the men took cash and personal property before running away. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

ROBBERY/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: 6261 Little River Turnpike (Exxon), 1/14/21, 9:30 a.m. A man entered the store and damaged property. He threatened then assaulted an employee and stole merchandise before running away. Officers located the man nearby and when they attempted to arrest him, he assaulted the officers. Darren McEwan, 34, of Alexandria, was taken into custody and charged with robbery, four counts of assault on law enforcement, destruction of property and threats to bomb. 

RESTON DISTRICT STATION

ABDUCTION/BARRICADE: 1500 block of Coat Ridge Road, 1/9/21, 6:08 p.m. A man threatened to harm a family member then prevented them from leaving the home by barricading the doors. Officers assigned to our Special Operations Division and Public Safety Dispatchers were able to safely deescalate the situation through negotiations. Michael Von Husen, 38, of Herndon, was charged with abduction. One person was treated for minor injuries.

ROBBERY: 1500 block of Cameron Crescent Drive, 1/10/21, 4:09 p.m. A man was waiting outside when he was approached by three juveniles who displayed guns and demanded property. The juveniles took property and ran away. Two of the juveniles were located by officers nearby and charged with robbery and use of firearm in the commission of a felony.

NARCOTICS POSSESSION/WEAPON VIOLATION: 2400 block of Centreville Road, 1/13/21, 6 p.m. An officer stopped a car for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation the officer learned that there was a gun and narcotics inside the car. A search of the car revealed crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and a gun. The driver, Douglas Ferguson, 29, of Blackstone, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a scheduled narcotic and possession of a scheduled narcotic with a firearm.   

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED/VEHICLE PURSUIT: Franconia-Springfield Parkway at Bonniemill Lane, 1/8/21, 9:28 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a 2016 Honda Fit for speeding but the driver refused, resulting in a pursuit. The car eventually crashed into a wall and the driver, Dominic Ricard, 39, of Washington, D.C., was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. He was charged with speed to elude law enforcement, driving while intoxicated third offense, driving with a revoked license, refusal of breath test second offense and speeding.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 8100 block of Braddock Road, 1/9/21, 10:30 a.m. A man was walking on a path when he was approached by two men who threatened him with shears, demanded property and ran away after taking cash. No injuries were reported.

STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY: 6200 block of Sydney Road, 1/13/21, 11:43 p.m. Officers responded to a single-car crash involving a 2009 Honda Odyssey. Officers determined the van was stolen and charged Antonio Young, 20, of Maryland, with grand larceny auto theft.
