MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION 

ROBBERY: 8500 block of Richmond Highway, 2/18/22, 3:36 p.m. Two juveniles approached the victim on the sidewalk, displayed a knife and demanded property. After the victim refused, one of the juveniles stabbed the victim in the lower body and ran away. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening. Upon further investigation, the juvenile was arrested and served with petitions.

MCLEAN DISTRICT STATION

SHOOTING: 8500 block of Leesburg Pike, 2/18/22, 3:03 a.m. Officers were called to the location after several community members heard gunshots. When police arrived, they found numerous cartridge cases. A witness advised a man got out of a vehicle at the location, displayed a firearm, and began shooting. No injuries were reported. A vehicle and a building were damaged by the gunfire. 

ASSAULT BY MOB/BRANDISHING: 2000 block of Chain Bridge Road, 2/18/22, 10:07 p.m. After a dispute, four juveniles assaulted the victim in the parking lot. One of the juveniles ran away and got into a car to leave. An officer apprehended the juvenile, and he was arrested inside the car. A firearm was recovered where he was sitting inside the car. A second firearm was located on the ground in the parking lot. Charges are pending for the juveniles.

MASON DISTRICT STATION 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 5711 Unit A Center Lane (AGW & Associates), 2/19/22, 7:21 a.m. Two men entered the business, took property, and left the area.

SHOOTING: 6000 block of Bellview Drive, 2/22/22, 3:28 p.m. Two victims were walking into an apartment building when three men approached them. One of the men shot four rounds through the door striking one of the victims in the lower body. The men ran away on foot. The victim was treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening. This does not appear to be a random act.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY: 6200 block of Franconia Road, 2/18/22, 5:04 p.m. The victim’s car was struck by another vehicle in the parking lot. Both occupants of the other vehicle and the victim were out of their vehicles talking. The victim began taking photographs of the crash when the other driver assaulted him, and his passenger took his property. Both men left in a red Dodge Durango. No injuries reported.

ROBBERY: 6500 block of Springfield Mall, 2/21/22, 3:30 p.m. The victim was approached by a group of juveniles while in line at a store. One of the juveniles took his property and walked away. The victim followed the group and approached them when a verbal dispute took place. The group of juveniles assaulted the victim, took his property and left. The victim reported minor injuries.

SHOOTING: 6315 Amherst Avenue (Paper Moon), 2/23/22, 2:34 a.m. A group of men got into an argument with an unarmed security guard and were removed from the business. As the group was leaving, two of the men forced their way back inside and each displayed a firearm. The two men walked back outside; started shooting the front of the business; and left in a white sedan. No injuries were reported at the business. A 22-year-old man, from Fredericksburg, was located at a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries related to the shooting. He was arrested and charged with burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and brandishing. He is held at the Adult Detention Center without bond. Additional charges are pending, and detectives are continuing to investigate to identify the others involved.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

ROBBERY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE: 11700 block of Fair Oaks Shopping Center, 2/20/22, 6:59 p.m. A 27-year-old man approached one of the victim’s while they were seated on a bench. The man took his property and ran away. The victim chased after the man and caught him nearby. A second victim was assaulted as she confronted the man, and he ran away. As the man ran away, he threw the victims property on the ground and the property broke. Two citizens nearby held the man on the ground until officers arrived and arrested him. A 27-year-old North Carolina man was charged with robbery, destruction of property and obstruction of justice.
