FCPD Host Auto Theft Symposium

Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau – FCPD hosted a symposium with law enforcement agencies from across the National Capital Region to discuss trends and best practices in investigating stolen vehicles.

The symposium was hosted today at our Public Safety Headquarters with over 90 law enforcement experts and more than 20 agencies from around the region in attendance. Fairfax County Police Chief, Kevin Davis, provided opening remarks for the event. The symposium discussed new and emerging trends and investigative techniques being used by law enforcement. Our Auto Crimes Enforcement (ACE) unit and regional partners presented what their agencies are doing to proactively investigate stolen vehicles and associated crimes to keep our communities safe. Working together as a team, we are dedicated to keeping the streets safe throughout the National Capital Region.

Our Auto Crimes Enforcement (ACE) unit was started in March of 2022 to help prevent and investigate stolen vehicles. Their mission is to prevent and eliminate vehicle theft in Fairfax County. Often, stolen vehicles are used to help facilitate other criminal activity. Since the ACE unit has been deployed on the roads of Fairfax County, they have recovered 141 stolen vehicles, and helped seize various illegal narcotics and weapons which have led to a total of 402 felony charges.    For ongoing updates, please read our blog and follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @FairfaxCountyPD
