Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Meetings:

CAC meetings are open to all ages and enhance communication between residents and the FCPD, offering residents a chance to speak with officers at their local police district station. Members are kept informed about significant safety matters in their neighborhoods and are encouraged to bring any issues or questions to the attention of local police commanders.

Public Safety Cadet Program:

The Fairfax County Police Department is the first in the nation to be granted a charter to operate units of the new Public Safety Cadets organization. Public Safety Cadets is a new, national organization that partners with law enforcement agencies to provide leadership, ethics, and career preparation training to young women and men 14-20 years old with an interest in a career in law enforcement. Community Police Academy:

Interested in learning more about local law enforcement? The Community Police Academy (formerly Citizens Police Academy) is designed to give participants a glimpse behind the badge and to provide information about training, policies, and the many units and divisions within the Fairfax County Police Department. Volunteer in Police Service (VIPS):

The Fairfax County Police Department would never be able to accomplish all that we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. The duties and responsibilities of VIPS are continually evolving as the needs of the department change. VIPS help to keep the county safe and operational by assisting with traffic control, devoting their time to support sobriety checkpoints, assisting with administrative duties, helping with photography, along with other community and crime prevention activities. Applications are always open for those who are 18 years or older. 

Sworn FCPD Police Officer:

If you want to be part of something larger than yourself and overcome new challenges every day, the Fairfax County Police Department is the agency for you. We are offering a $15,000 incentive when you get hired to attend our basic training academy or later officer academy. We are proud of our competitive starting salary that will reflect the skills you bring to the FCPD, such as added education, proficiency in a foreign language, and prior military or law enforcement experience.
