Detectives Arrest Man Responsible for Malicious Sexual Assault

Franconia Police District – The quick police work of officers and detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau led to the arrest of a man wanted for a rape and malicious wounding that occurred on Friday in Kingstowne.

Around 5:00 a.m. on August 28, officers responded to a townhome in the 6000 block of Alexander Avenue in Kingstowne for a report of an adult woman who had been raped and maliciously assaulted. The suspect left the scene prior to the officers’ arrival. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Detectives determined the victim communicated with the suspect online and the two agreed to meet in-person. When the victim arrived to the 6000 block of Alexandria Avenue, the suspect lured her into a townhome. She was pushed down the stairs where she sustained significant injuries. The suspect then sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to escape and call 911. Detectives identified the suspect as Yeudy Saul Chavez Sandoval, 22, of Kingstowne. Detectives obtained warrants for Rape, Forcible Sodomy, Object Sexual Penetration, and Malicious Wounding. After thorough investigative efforts, detectives were able to take Chavez Sandoval into custody. He is currently being held in the ADC on no bond.
