Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Reston

Reston Police District – A 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased following a fatal pedestrian crash near the intersection of Baron Cameron Avenue and Fountain Drive in Reston.

Preliminarily, detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit determined Khalid Magan, of Reston was attempting to cross Baron Cameron Avenue around 8 p.m. last night outside of the crosswalk. The driver of a 2002 Ford F-250 was traveling west on Baron Cameron Avenue and struck Magan. Magan was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver remained at the scene of the crash.

Preliminarily, detectives do not believe speed or alcohol are factors in the crash for the driver. Alcohol is still under investigation for the pedestrian. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This is the 8th pedestrian-related fatal crash in the County to date in 2023. Year-to-date, in 2022, there were 16 pedestrian-related fatal crashes.
